FACEBOOK 5 STAR REVIEW – BOTH BOOKS

5.0 out of 5 stars The biggest compliment I could give …

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 January 2021

Really enjoyed Tough Season. This was the first novel that I had read based around rugby league and as a fan of the sport I found this refreshing. The detail of the characters helped me to picture these andI loved the mystery of whose side some of these were on, especially Bob Irvine. My favourite books are by Conn Iggulden, John Grisham, Lee Child, George RR Martin and Simon Scarrow. The biggest compliment I could give Chris is that I would rate his writing to be of an equal standard to these authors.

Tough Season in the Sun is a fantastic follow-up novel to the first and the story was equally as gripping. There are new as well as existing characters to love or hate as well as great detail to help you picture the scenes. A good book to me is one that you’re desperate to see what happens, but you don’t want it to end and this fits that bill. My only feeling of disappointment is that now I have to wait for the next book, Tough World to be published. Well done again, Chris.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, Fantastic, Action packed read

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 January 2021

Having read Tough Season, the first in series, this second book does not disappoint. The first book had the feel of Dick Francis, but this book I found action packed and fast moving from the outset with plenty of twists and turns to the plot.
Even up to the last few pages it kept you on your toes. I cannot wait for the next one and I'm looking forward to this with great anticipation. If you loved the first one, then you should find this a fantastic read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastico!

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 December 2020

Just finished. Brilliant stuff! This time our all-conquering hero Greg Duggan blazes a brand-new trail of destruction in the steaming heat of Lanzarote. This quiet, volcanic island soon erupts into a hot, flowing lava of turbulent activity as soon as he touches down. Greg takes it all in his stride as the plots thicken, the bullets fly and the bodies are left scattered both on and off the rugby field as he continues his relentless pursuit of his arch enemy on the island. And, although transported to a different setting of the Canary Islands, it goes without saying that he is still pulling the birds. The heat goes on and it all boils down to the pulsating Judgment Day winner-takes-all final in front of a vociferous, packed stadium. And we’re still baying for more when the final, knockout blow is delivered.... Fantastico!

MAGAZINE 5 STAR REVIEW

5.0 out of 5 stars Warming up a winter’s evening!

Reviewed in the United Kingdom in the December 2020 edition

In the mould of Bruce Willis’ Die Hard and as racy as his first (Tough Season) Chris Berry’s Tough Season In The Sun is definitely one for warming up a winter’s evening.
